Ambasciatrice della tradizione Gharnati nel mondo, non ha mai smesso di approfondire la sua arte, una ricerca musicologica volta alla padronanza del canto insieme ad una volontà creativa e innovativa.

Amina Alaoui nata a Fez, in Marocco, in una famiglia aristocratica profondamente attaccata alle tradizioni marocchine, colte e popolari, ma comunque aperta al mondo intellettuale e artistico contemporaneo.

Da bambina riceve un insegnamento famigliare del canto arabo-andaluso, della musica classica occidentale attraverso lo studio del pianoforte e del solfeggio prima dal Maestro direttore d’orchestra Mohamed Abou Drar, poi dai Maestri del conservatorio di Rabat Ahmed Aydoun e M. Ouassini. Studia in parallelo le danze orientali e la danza classica con Vera Likatchova.

Le sue prime poesie, Amina, le scrive all’età di dieci anni.

Dopo la maturità presa al Liceo francese Descartes di Rabat e il Diploma di « Cultura española » dell’Università Complutense di Madrid. Si consacra alla filologia e alla linguistica (spagnola e araba) all’Università di Granada. In questa città sviluppa un lavoro di ricerca sui canti orientali e arabo-andalusi e sul periodo d’oro della poesia andalusa. In Marocco perfeziona la sua arte pridiletta, il canto Gharnati, stile arabo andaluso di Granada presso il Maestro Hahmed Piro. A Parigi, dove si trasferisce dal 1986, lavora il canto medievale con Henri Agnel e il canto persiano classico con Djallal. Vincitrice della borsa di studio di “Villa Medici Fuori le Mura” nel 2000, per una ricerca musicologica volta a mettere in relazione musicale e storica il flamenco, il fado e la musica arabo-andalusa, percorre la penisola Iberica per due anni e si trasferisce di nuovo a Granada. Crea nel 2002 Passion Iberica, frutto della sua ricerca, presentata in prima mondiale al Festival dell’Alhambra a Granada dove unisce per la prima volta in scena l’oud, la chitarra flamenca e la chitarra portoghese.

Il suo percorso è costellato da passerelle musicali e di incontri notevoli. Ha condiviso il palcoscenico con: Maria Joào Pires, Jon Hassel, Djamchid Chemirani, Naseer Shamma, Saïd Chraïbi, Renaud Garcia Fons, Pedro Soler… con gli autori e compositori come: Jon Balke, Lluis LLach, Angélique Iona¬tos, Loudovikos… con le cantanti: Nena Venetsanou, Soeur Marie Keyrouz, Inès Bacan, Esperanza Fernandez, Marina Heredia. E’ stata accompagnata da: l’Orchestres arabo-andalou di Fez (dir. Mohamed Briouel), di Rabat (dir.Ahmed Piro) e di Tétouan (dir. Amine Akrami), la Filarmonica di Londra (dir.Serge Dorny), l’Orchestra Filarmonica Europea (dir.Hugues Reiner), l’Orchestra sinfonica di Cordoba,The Nieuw Ensemble of Amsterdam e il Baroque Fever Ensemble.

Amina Alaoui ha ottenuto numerosi premi tra i quali:
- Prix d’Interprétation du festival de musique Arabo-andalouse d’Oran nel 1989- Algeria.
- Prix d’Excellence au Festival Gharnati d’Oujda nel 1992- Marocco.
- Prix d’Honneur du Festival de Musique Classique Arabe de l’Opéra du Caire- Egitto1993.

Ambassadrice de cette tradition à travers le monde, elle n’a de cesse d’approfondir son art, une recherche musicologique dans un souci de maîtrise de son art, jumelé à une volonté créative et rénovatrice.

Amina Alaoui née à Fès, au Maroc, dans une famille aristocratique profondément attachées aux tra¬ditions marocaines, savantes et populaires et ouverte au monde intellectuel et artistique contemporain. Enfant, elle reçoit l’enseignement familial du chant arabo-andalou, ceux de la musique classique europeénne en étant foemée au piano et au solfège d’abord auprès du Chef d’orchestre Mohamed Abou Drar puis au Conservatoire de Rabat auprès des professeurs Ahmed Aydoun et M. Ouassini. Elle travaille les danses orientales, la danse contemporaine avec Marie-Odile Loakira et la danse classique avec Vera Likatchova. Ses premiers poèmes sont publiés à l’âge de dix ans.

Après son Baccalauréat français au Lycée Descartes de Rabat et son Diplôme « Cultura española » de l’Université Complutense de Madrid. Elle se consacre à la philologie et à la linguistique (espagnole et arabe) à la Faculté de Grenade. Dans cette ville, elle développe un travail de recherche sur les chants orientaux et arabo-andalous et sur l’âge d’or de la poésie andalouse. Au Maroc, elle perfec¬tionne, son art de prédilection, le chant Gharnati, style Arabo-Andalou de Grenade, auprès du Maître Hahmed Piro. A Paris, elle travaille le chant médiéval avec Henri Agnel et le chant classique persan avec Djallal AElle s’installe à Paris, en 1986, où elle travaille le chant médiéval avec Henri Agnel et le chant classique persan avec Djallal Akhbari. Lauréate de la Bourse de recherche «Villa Médicis Hors les Murs», en 2000, pour une investigation musicologique basée sur les parentés musicales et historiques entre le Flamenco, le Fado et la musique Arabo-andalouse, elle parcours la Péninsule Ibérique durant deux ans, puis s’installe à Grenade. Elle crée, en juin 2002, Passion Ibérique, fruit de sa recherche, présentée en première mondiale au Festival de l’Alhambra de Grenade où elle réunit sur scène et pour la première fois, le oud, la guitare flamenca et la guitare portugaise.

Sa trajectoire est jalonnée de ponts musicaux et de rencontres notables. She is regarded today as a virtuoso and such a great ambassador of this chant tradition around the world. She combines also musicology, composition and performance, with a single-minded devotion. She is exceptionally talented and innovative.

She was born in Fez, Morocco, issued from aristocratic and old-established family rich in Moroccan culture and tradition. It was at the age of six, in her family artistic environment, that she first deve¬loped her love of Arab-Andalusian music. She started studying classical piano with the Maestro Mohamed Abu Drar, a classical European chef orchestra certified in Germany. She also attended Conservatory in Rabat, with Mr Ahmed Aydoun and Mr Ouassini. She studied Alvin Nicolaï contem¬porary dance with Marie-Odile Loakira and classical dance with Vera Likatchova, as well as Oriental dances. Her first poems were published when she was only ten years!

Furthermore, after the French Baccalaureate High School Diploma in Descartes, and the CompluFur¬thermore, after the French Baccalaureate High School Diploma in Descartes, and the Complutense University Diploma of Madrid, she majored in philosophy and linguistics (Arabic and Spanish) at the University of Granada. In Granada, she developed a personal research on the Arab-Andalusian songs and oriental music, also the poetry…. Her deep initiation into the Gharnati style was in Rabat where she honed her skills in Gharnati music under Master Ahmed Piro. She also studied Euro¬pean medieval songs with Henri Agnel and classical Persian repertoire with Djallal Akhbari. In 2000 she won the “Villa Médicis Hors les Murs” Grand from French Governement, for a musicological research, in Spain and Portugal, on the historical relationships between Flamenco (Spanih song and dane genre), Fado (Portuguese song and dance genre) and the Arab-Andalusian music. Amina Alaoui’s two-year research opened up new wider horizons for her. The Festival of the Alhambra in Granada (2002) marked her masterly skill in both composition and performance.

Her career is marked by significant events and concerts with renowned musicians such as: Maria Joao Pires, Jon Hassell, Djamchid Chemirani, Naseer Shamma, Said Chraïbi,Renaud Garcia Fons, Pedro Soler…. With such songwriters as Lluis Llach, Angélique Ionatos, Loudovikos… With singers such as Nena Venetsanou, Sister Marie Keyrouz, Ines Bacan, and Esperanza Fernandez. Amina Alaoui worked in collaboration with classical oriental and european Orchestras : The Andalusian Orchestras of Fez (conduced by Mohamed Briouel) , of Tetuan (conduced by Amine Akrami) and of Rabat (conduced by Ahmed Piro), The London Philharmonic Orchestra (conduced by Serge Dorny), the European Philharmonic Orchestra (conduced by Hugues Reiner), the Nieuw Ensemble of Ams¬terdam, and the Baroque Fever Ensemble.

Amina Alaoui received numerous prestigious awards and honours:
- Prix d’Interprétation du festival de musique Arabo-andalouse d’Oran en 1989- Algérie.
-Performance Award at the Festival of Oran (Algeria, 1989).
-Excellence Award at Gharnati Music Festival (Oujda, Morocco, 1992).
-Honour Award of the Cairo Opera – Festival of Classical Arabic Music (Egypt, 1993).
-Nominated for «Kora Awards 1999». She earned Trophy of African Continent Music.
